Privacy Policy
Jobs for Teens helps teenagers in British Columbia find employers and roles they may be able to apply for. We built this site to need as little information about you as possible. This page explains what that means in practice.

Who we are
Jobs for Teens is operated by its founder in Vancouver, British Columbia, as a sole proprietorship. The registered business name will be published here as soon as the BC business registration is complete. “We” and “us” on this page mean the operator.
Who to contact about privacy
Privacy Officer — Jobs for Teens
privacy@jobsforteens.ca
You can email the Privacy Officer with any question, request or complaint about how we handle personal information. We do not publish a street address.
What we don't ask you for
Using Jobs for Teens does not require an account. There is no sign-up and no login. We do not ask you for, and the site does not collect:
- your name
- your date of birth
- your email address
- your phone number or home address
- your school
- a resume or any job application
- identification documents
- your precise location
We do not accept job applications, and we never send your information to an employer. When you apply for a job, you do that on the employer's own website.
The age filter
The site lets you choose an age to filter listings. That choice happens in your browser and is used only to decide which listings to show you. We do not store it against your name, an account or a profile, because none of those exist.
If you email us
If you email hello@jobsforteens.ca or privacy@jobsforteens.ca, we receive whatever your email includes — usually your email address, any name your email account attaches, your message, and anything you attach.
We use that information only as reasonably necessary to reply, to look into a correction you've reported, to recheck information with an employer, to answer a privacy question, to keep the service secure, or to meet a legal obligation.
Please don't send us more than you need to. We never need your resume, your date of birth, your ID, or your passwords. If you're reporting a problem with a listing, the employer, location, role and what looks wrong is enough.
Consent and your choices
If you email us for an obvious purpose — for example, to report a correction or ask a privacy question — we use the information you provide for that purpose and the related purposes described above.
You can withdraw consent by emailing privacy@jobsforteens.ca. We'll tell you what withdrawing means in practice and stop collecting, using or disclosing your information for that consent-based purpose, except where applicable law permits or requires otherwise. We will delete information when we no longer need or are permitted to keep it.
Withdrawing consent won't affect your ability to browse Jobs for Teens, because browsing does not require an account or submission of personal information.
Technical information handled by our providers
We don't run analytics or advertising trackers on this site, and we don't log visitor information into our own database.
But no website works without technical information moving around. Our hosting and security providers necessarily handle ordinary request information — things like IP addresses, browser type and timing — to deliver pages and protect the service from abuse. That's how the internet works, and we'd rather say so than claim we collect nothing at all.
Cookies and tracking
We do not use advertising cookies or analytics tracking. Our providers may use technology strictly necessary to deliver and secure the site.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run Jobs for Teens: website hosting, database hosting, and domain and email forwarding. Some of them, and the information they handle, may be located outside Canada. We can't promise your information always stays in Canada, so we won't.
Links to employers
Listings link to employers' own websites and application systems. Once you leave Jobs for Teens, that employer's privacy policy applies, not ours. We aren't responsible for how employers handle your information, and we'd encourage you to read their policy before applying.
We don't sell your information
We do not sell personal information about visitors to this site.
How long we keep things
We keep email correspondence only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was sent for, plus any period we need for legal or security reasons. We don't build visitor profiles, so there's nothing else to keep.
Keeping information safe
We use reasonable security measures to protect the limited information we hold. If a privacy breach happened, we would contain it, investigate what happened and assess the risk to people. We would take steps appropriate to the circumstances, which may include notifying affected people and reporting the breach to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or make a complaint about how we've handled it. Email privacy@jobsforteens.ca. For a formal access or correction request, we'll respond within the time required by applicable privacy law. Under British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act, that is generally 30 days, subject to permitted extensions.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Teenagers using this site
Jobs for Teens is built for teenagers, and that shaped the design. There's no account, no profile, no resume upload and no application, so there's very little for us to hold. We don't ask anyone to prove their age or identity.
We do not require parental consent just to browse listings. You do not need to create an account or submit personal information to browse the site.
If you're a parent and have a question about this site, email privacy@jobsforteens.ca.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll say so on the page.
